My Bio
In my childhood I spent allot of time drawing. I was always fascinated in creating new and better designs. I also tried to improve versions already made or to make different versions of a basic concept.

Through the years, I saw my drawing style change. My weaknesses, I temporarily disguised in a simple way. Thus, there was a period when I drew my characters masked. Faces was my weak point.

After my secondary education I did not know what to do. Of course I kept drawing over the years. Even during the lessons. I did this not because the lessons were boring. Well, not all lessons. But drawing is for me really as tearing up a coaster is to others. A classmate suggested we could continue our study on the Graphic Lyceum Rotterdam.

We went together for a information moment where we were dazzled with the possibilities of 3-dimensional (3D). Multimedia Design course was one that drew my attention the most and I knew immediately what my differentiation would be. 3D BABY!

In the third year my balloon folded. The 3D I'm so looking forward to do was not so "hot" in the Netherlands. I would catch a lot of bone if I chose that differentiation. Web-designing would be a better choice. What was then my weakest point.
Eventually I did what was best for my future. But because my heart was not there, it went wrong. I failed on almost subjects that were web design related, and excelled in all other subjects.

This was also the period that I got in touch with American comics. I used to read Spiderman when I was a youngster, but never realized that it was a piece of work made by masters in drawing. I was too young to realize. The Darkness was my first collection and the launch of a collective addiction. The books were very inspiring. That’s when I thought, "This is what I would want. In my life I would like to create a comic book. "

After the disaster at school, I had a good talk with a teacher. She told me again that 3D was a dead-end, but it was not really what I wanted to do. "I am a creative person. I want to express. I want more freedom, "I said to her. Internet was (in 1999) kind of a beta versions in Holland. There were many rules applied for making a website. So much that it was no fun to create one. Flash (then Macromedia) was just emerging in the Netherlands. So my verdict was Graphic Designer, but because of my previous experience the short version.

This was what I wanted. The first two years I went with a 100% passed Grade book (everything was sufficient). I never did that before. I was free and going away again. Spend time learning the craftsmanship of website building. Internet was still the future, but now I could do this on my own pace. Actually as I mentioned earlier for the drawing. My weaknesses as a designer I fix, and make them a strong point. Flash is not really wanted, but GoLive and DreamWeaver I had mastered.
Eventually I graduated. But, I didn’t want to be stuck at a boss just yet. I wanted more, and I knew I could do/ be more.

So I continued with an undergraduate course CommunicationSystems (Digital Communications). During this education I learned many new things. I was creative and all my experience I could came to good use, but I learned how I could use this for marketing purposes. During this education I also spend more time learning Flash. My weakness in Internet. With success, because now I´m able to create a flash website. (this site is an example).

In my first year in the undergraduate I was a teacher for one period. The curriculum was named Cross medial designing and I gave lessons in Adobe PhotoShop and InDesign. I was with my girlfriend, when suddenly the principal of the school phoned me. Unbelievable, but awfully true.
You know, these are times when you could "think" that your being punked by friends. Fortunately I reacted calmly, and it yielded me a top experience.
